You will normally have to pay toll on the larger French roads. They are, however, not crowded and they are in good condition, so long drives are not too exhasting. The only exception regarding congestion is the Paris area. You should avoid passing through here at rush hour. (The least congested time is between midnight and about 6 in the morning. Directions: After Paris, take the A 10 “ Aquitaine” towards Bordeaux. When you come to Poitiers, change to the N 10 towards Angoulème, this is like a smaller motorway, 25 km less and doesn't charge toll.l (difference: EUR 15,-). In Bordeaux both of the roads join again. Follow the road towards Bayonne until Magescq, then there will be signs for Soustons. There are signs for the "Centre Nautique" in Soustons. |
