THE WEATHER

In view of the situation so closed to the ocean its surprising to experience the extremely stable and calm weather here in the south of the “Landes”. Very often there is high pressure during several weeks which means cold or cool nights (summer) and warm or hot days with the sun rising: It can be almost too hot for rowing in February when there is no wind because the sun is so much more intensive than in North of Europe. Nevertheless, freezing temperatures in the night are not unusual then ! But this means good weather, no wind in the morning and warming sun during the day.

Off course, there is no guarantee; sometimes weather can change shocking fast and be extremely intensive not in stable periods. And “bad weather” in Soustons can´t be compared with bad weather in the northern countries: If here in Soustons we say its really horrible conditions, in Hamburg they would be glad to have them.
